Adventure Learning and Lifelong Learning Outside the Classroom
At Launceston College, we offer a range of adventure learning opportunities, starting with our residential in Year 7, continuing with day experiences and moving towards the Duke of Edinburgh Award and Ten Tors Challenge as they progress through Key Stage 4 and Sixth Form.
We participate in the annual Ten Tors on Dartmoor, a challenging event that requires students to navigate across 35, 45, or 55 miles of open moorland. This event is an excellent opportunity for our students to develop their leadership, teamwork, and resilience skills.
In addition to our commitment to adventure learning, Launceston College is also dedicated to providing our students with an exceptional range of extracurricular activities to enhance their educational experience.
Our Performance Academies are a fabulous opportunity for our students to develop their talents in sports, music, and drama. Our sports clubs and fixtures provide students with the opportunity to develop their physical skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
We offer a wide range of sports clubs, including football, basketball, netball, and rugby. Our students regularly participate in local and regional competitions and inter-school fixtures, including the annual Cornwall Schools’ Games.
Our drama and music opportunities provide students with coaching, guidance and the platform to showcase their talents and express themselves creatively. Our school shows, musical performances and drama productions are annual events, and we are consistently impressed by the talent and creativity of our students.
We believe that providing our students with a range of extracurricular activities is an essential part of our commitment to a well-rounded education. We are proud to offer our students the opportunity to develop their skills and interests outside of the classroom.
